Japanese Gardens

We went to the Japanese Gardens at the Zilker Botanical Garden this morning.  Here are some photos.

We voted

Im glad they have early voting here in Austin. Nikki and I both voted. Looking forward to seeing what happens in November. For anyone who knows us it shouldn't be a big surprise who we voted for.

Funny Bee Story

Zoe's language is improving a lot. She is starting to put words together and we get to hear what she is thinking about, some of it is really funny.

We have shown her in the past that bees fly onto flowers and get pollen and nectar out of them to make honey, bees also seem to like to fly around Zoe a lot and we say something like "go away bee".

The other day a bee was buzzing around Zoe and she said, "Go away bee...go find a flower".

Dinoland

We took Zoe to see the dinosaurs at the Zilker Botanical Gardens this morning. She is really into dinosaurs right now so this was lots of fun.

Friday night pizza

We met some friends and had pizza at HomeSlice in South Austin Friday night. We sat outside and Zoe and her friend Darlene did some serious silly playing, at one point the were pretending to be dogs walking down the sidewalk. I like this photo I took of Zoe. 

First belly photo

Nikki went to her first full midwife appointment yesterday. They listened to the heartbeat, called me on the phone and Zoe and I listen to it also. Heartbeat is strong and healthy. The baby is due in mid-April. Nikki is starting to show, our bellies are similar in Buddha-ness now. She will out-Buddha my belly real soon though.

Register reminder

Dont forget to register if you haven't already. This year there are separate deadline dates to be aware of. If you're voting for Obama, most states have the deadline about a month in advance, so asap would be good. If your going to vote for McCain the date to register is after November 4th.

We have everything moved

This weekend we moved all our stuff from Dallas (Plano) to our new place in Austin. My parents helped bring the artwork, plants and other delicate things down. Late last night I finally moved all the boxes in the house and returned the uhaul.

This week we will be unpacking, setting up internet and all the things necessary to get the house ready. Hopefully by next weekend we can relax and go have some fun.

Cosmic Cafe

We went to dinner tonight with our friends Sheedeh and Maria to Cosmic Cafe veggie restaurant in Dallas after the art reception at Aria Salon. Zoe had a good time playing with Moo-Moo outside.
