Zoë helping pick out paints at the store

The 2008 election results

A little introduction for this hilarious video. Diebold is the company that supplies the electronic voting machines for the national elections that the US has been using. In 2003 the chief executive of Diebold announced that he had been a top fund-raiser for President George W. Bush and the Republican Party. You put 2 and 2 together and anyone can see there is the blaring conflict of interest. But this video from The Onion says it the best.

A couple of photos from the weekend

Here are a couple of photos taken by Zoe's grandparents this weekend. The first is at Skip's old high school (Allen High School), we went there Saturday for Donovan's basketball tournament.

The second is at Jason's Deli on Sunday. Zoe would take off through the restaurant and Skip would go catch her and bring her back, this turned out to be a fun game.

Our little artist

Skip got a canvas tonight to start on a new painting. We came home, sat the canvas on the floor. Zoe went straight to her room, got a black crayon, came back without saying a word and started drawing on the canvas. She drew for about 5 minutes.
(Its abstract).

Moon Eclipse

Here is a photo we took of the eclipse the other night (the 21st). It was a cloudy night, so the moon would be visible for a couple of minutes at a time. We didn't get a chance to see it turn red, maybe in 2010. Zoe watched for a little, she had a lot of energy that night.

Dallas World Aquarium

We went to the Dallas World Aquarium this morning. We showed Zoe some otters and she pointed and said "otter", very clearly. Here are some photos.

Video of Chinese New Year

Our favorite part is watching Zoe clap for the dragon.

Chinese New Year

This afternoon we went downtown to celebrate Chinese New Year. Zoe had a great time checking out the dragons and lions, and we got some good photos. Our favorite time of the celebration was when the dragon and lions went around to greet everyone, Nikki and I loved watching Zoe wave "ew-woe" to them. Her favorite was the yellow Groucho Marx looking dragon.

Afterwards we walked around a bit downtown and Zoe splashed in a small fountain.

Zoe's Goodnight Song

Since Zoe was born Nikki and I have always sang a song to her before she goes to bed. It goes like this:

Its time to go to sleep
Its time to go to bed
Its time for pretty Zoe
to rest her sleepy head

About 2 weeks ago she started giggling when ever we sang it. One night she was giggling and putting her hands on her head and we realized that she understands the words now, thats what she is laughing at!
