Lunch With The Dinosaurs and First Poopies
Zoe had her first full poopie in the toilet all by her self last week. On a different note she brought her 2 dino buddies to lunch today. The big one can use chopsticks very well.

2 types of weathermen
This is a funny video of a weatherman scared of a cockroach, and these are the weathermen who tried to overthrow the US government back in 1969.

Ft Worth Zoo
We went to the Ft Worth Zoo this morning. Its a pretty good zoo, it has flora environments for the animals and things for them to do. Its not one of those concrete/penitentiary/depressing style zoos like the Dallas Zoo is.
The main reason for going was for Zoe to see elephants. She wanted to get in the enclosure with them. We had fun.

Magpies and Dolphins
Scientist now realize that birds have self-recognition. I think the more we study this type of stuff, the more we are going to realize how similar all living beings are to one another.
Here is another story about dolphins teaching one another.

New design each morning
Our neighbors (and fellow vegetarians) across the way are from Southern India and each morning they use rice flour to create designs on their doorstep. I took a photo of the one this morning. Our neighbor says she knows thousands of designs and its a way for others to see what is going on with the house hold. Very cool!

We're moving
Its official, we are moving to Austin in October. There are a lot of things to do outdoors and lots of local restaurants (including many vegetarian ones). It close enough to Dallas to visit family and friends with no trouble. It a town more our style.
We will miss our family and friends in Dallas, but we are only a half a days drive away.

Some Zoe photos
Zoe and her buddy Gorilla hanging out in the wagon. Zoe and Nikki had fun playing in the rain this afternoon.
Zoe was painting in the kitchen and decided to use her tummy as a canvas.

Endangered Species Act is soooo getting in the way of that $6,ooo,ooo,ooo profit, so lets just change the law.
What this is in a nutshell, the act will bar federal agencies from studying and tracing the pollution caused by corporations that contribute to global warming and how its causing animal species to go extinct.
The story this refers to is here

Our patio buddies
In addition to feeding the birds on the patio we have a family of rats (or maybe some type of mouse, cant tell) that live in our patio closet and eat the bird seed we put down. We put some of the seed by the closet door especially for them. They recently had some little ones (as you can see in the photo).

Medieval Politics
Pretend you are a political adviser for a presidential nominee and you have to go back into time, into the dark ages, and market your nominee towards the mindset of the medieval times. What kind of ad would you come up with? How about this one calling Obama the Antichrist, that would work, right?
Seriously, this is working? (Sadly it is)

Observations on Austin
We were in Austin for the weekend, here are a couple of observations:
- There are a lot of old, almost ancient curly oak trees everywhere.
- Is not the desert, but there are a lot of cactus, yuccas, palm trees and desert succulents planted right beside colder climate flowers and "normal" plants.
- Austin is probably the most tattooed city Ive been to.
- The worlds largest bat colony lives under the Congress bridge during the summer and hundreds of thousands of them swarm out at dusk, very surreal.
- Lots of veggie places to eat.
- Its a very liberal city, Barack Obama posters everywhere. Thats not to say there aren't conservative, religious, busy-business types there. Austin definitely has those guys, but so does New York City (lots of them taking over Manhattan). Austin is probably the most liberal non-coastal city.
- Lots of musicians, it looks like Guitar Center exploded.
- I like there aren't a lot of chain restaurants.
- Openly gay couples (which I think is cool)
- In the summer is toooooo freakin hot. Its hot in Dallas, but mix in some humidity in there and its ridiculous.
- Large amount of homeless people for a town its size
- Austin is like an island, you drive out of it really quick and you are back in Texas, a very conservative, rural, stereotypical Texas.
Flat Earth
Here is an article on how some still believe the world is flat. Is a fun theory.
