This is a photo my mom sent me of when I was a year old. My mom is the one with the tan and the red hat on. My dad is holding me and they are talking to my Aunt Phyllis (my dads sister).

Yabee
Zoe has made up a word for "yes". She has decided that "yabee" is much cooler than a plain old boring yes. If its something she really wants, like a big cookie, we get a "yabee yabee". She still says yes now and then, but yabee is the hip word for the moment.
I looked up if yabee means anything in another language, and right now it is slang for cool in Japanese. Yabee!

Natural Bridge Caverns
We went to the Natural Bridge Caverns near San Antonio today. It was a lot of fun, Zoe said "wow" once which made me smile. She liked the ancient pile of bat poop the best. The pile was millions of years old and several stories high.

Carousels in Dallas
We recently visited Dallas for an art exhibition I was in. Everything went well with the show and the visit. We saw friends and family, which was nice. (On a side note I tried Swedish pancakes with lingonberry sauce for the first time, surprizingly very good!)
We also celbrated my birthday yesterday as well. Nikki made dark chocolate coconut cake from scratch, yummy! Below are some photos from the past week.
At my parents house
Dark Chocolate Coconut bunt cake, or as Zoe calls it butt cake
Zoe was helping Nikki with the cake (sort of....not really)
Carousel Time
It was in the 80s today in Austin, so we hung out at Zilker Park for a bit.

Cathedral of Junk
We visited the Cathedral of Junk today in Austin with Angie, Jeff and James. A guy built a 3 story cathedral in his back yard made out of junk and found objects. We met him, he was a nice guy, he said it took him 20 years to build it.

A quick look back at 2008
Here are some things that happened over the past year for us.
- We moved from Plano to Austin
- We spent Nikki's 30th birthday at her 2nd favorite place to eat, Gobos in NYC with friends (her favorite place-Zen Palate in Union Square had closed down).
- We traveled to West Virginia to visit Skip's grandmother
- 2 of Skip's 3 remaining grandparents passed away. Nadine on his dad's side and Paxton on his mom's side. Skip did get a chance to have a good, long talk with his grandfather in the hospital before hand, which meant alot to him.
- We went to Boulder and the Rocky Mountains for a nice mountain holiday in the spring.
- Nikki started a new part time job at home.
- Skip picked up artist representation at a gallery in Dallas
- Zoe turned 2!
- We learned that we will have a new addition to the family next year!
