Cathedral of Junk
We visited the Cathedral of Junk today in Austin with Angie, Jeff and James. A guy built a 3 story cathedral in his back yard made out of junk and found objects. We met him, he was a nice guy, he said it took him 20 years to build it.

A quick look back at 2008
Here are some things that happened over the past year for us.
- We moved from Plano to Austin
- We spent Nikki's 30th birthday at her 2nd favorite place to eat, Gobos in NYC with friends (her favorite place-Zen Palate in Union Square had closed down).
- We traveled to West Virginia to visit Skip's grandmother
- 2 of Skip's 3 remaining grandparents passed away. Nadine on his dad's side and Paxton on his mom's side. Skip did get a chance to have a good, long talk with his grandfather in the hospital before hand, which meant alot to him.
- We went to Boulder and the Rocky Mountains for a nice mountain holiday in the spring.
- Nikki started a new part time job at home.
- Skip picked up artist representation at a gallery in Dallas
- Zoe turned 2!
- We learned that we will have a new addition to the family next year!

Barton Creek Greenbelt
We hiked around the Barton Creek Greenbelt this morning. I think this is part of the hill country of Texas, not sure, but we definitely were up on some hills.

Rick Steeves

I went to see Rick Steves speak at a local bookstore. He host a travel show on PBS that Ive watched for years. It was great to watch him speak, he is very political when he is off camera.
He just finished a show about Iran. He said the reason he did this show is to try and show the west what the people of Iran are really like. The corporate media has been so busy dehumanizing Iran, that he wanted a chance to show how they (the people of Iran) are just people, like us, just trying to live their life. We shouldn't confuse the people with the policies of their government.
